We build one pair at a time.
AETHER began in 2019 inside a converted carpenter's workshop on Via Tortona, Milan. We were five — a lastmaker, a carbon engineer, a leather specialist, a pattern cutter and a photographer. We are still five. The work has not sped up.

Form
Each last is carved by hand from hornbeam, then digitally scanned before production. No two pairs share the same form exactly — but every pair is identical in silhouette.

From hide to finished shoe: 92 hours of work. 38 pairs of hands. One signature on the inside heel.
